In 2012, Türkiye imported 950 thousand 490 tons of slabs, which is six times higher than 2011. This is evidenced by the data of the Turkish Institute of Statistics. The supply of steel slabs to Turkey significantly exceeded the historical maximum of 2005.
Only in December 2012, the imports of Slyabov grew by 24% compared to the previous month and amounted to a record 204 thousand 859 tons.
The first place in the supply of steel slabs to Turkey was the UK with a result of 266 thousand 910 tons, and the second place went to Ukraine, which sold 191 thousand 366 tons of steel slabs and the sorting of a thick sheet in this country.
At the same time, in 2011, neither the UK nor Ukraine was supplied to Turkey at all. The main supplier in 2011 was the Netherlands, who sold more than 400 thousand tons to Turkish companies, which amounted to 51% of all the imports of slabs.
