World production steel in January 2013 reached 125 million tons - WSA

Today, the World Association has become World Steel Association 1 (WorldSteel) has published operational data for January 2013. According to the WSA report, the production of steel in sixty -two countries of the Association amounted to 125 million tons, which is 0.8% more than in January 2012.

The largest manufacturer of cast iron and steel in the world, China increased the volumes of smelted steel by 4.6% - to 59 million 300 thousand tons, Japan is retained by the increased production of steel by 2.7% - up to 8 million 900 thousand tons. The three largest countries of cast iron manufacturers and steel is closed by South Korea with a result of 5 million 800 thousand tons, which is 0.4% less than in January 2012.

As for the European Union, 3 million 600 thousand tons were produced in Germany, which is 5.4% higher than in January last year. Italian metallurgists demonstrated a fall by 19.7% - up to 1 million 800 thousand tons, French by 1.3% - up to 1 million 400 thousand tons and Spanish steel plants produced 1 million 100 thousand tons, which is 2.5% less than in January 2012.

The United States produced 7 million 300 thousand tons of steel, which is 5.8% lower than the result of the same period in 2012.

Turkish production steel in January amounted to 2 million 900 thousand tons, which is 8.8% less than in January last year.

In January 2013, 5 million 700 thousand tons were produced in Russia, which is 5.7% less than in the same period last year. The production of steel in Ukraine in January 2013 amounted to 2 million 700 thousand tons, or 4.4% less than in January 2012.

The averaged coefficient of the use of metallurgical capacities in January 2013 in the 62nd countries of the WSA association decreased by 5.5% compared to January 2012 and 2% compared with the December of last year, reaching 71.2%.
