Metinvest managed to bring Zaporizhstal to a breakless level

The General Director of the Metallurgical Plant Zaporizhstal Rostislav Shurma today at a press conference in Zaporozhye summed up the results of the plant over the past year.

According to Mr. Shurma, in 2012, the Kaporozhstal Communist Party received a net loss of 2 billion 40 million UAH.

However, more than one and a half billion hryvnias in this figure, the so -called "paper loss", which arose when switching to world standards of financial statements and bringing the cost of fixed assets to real numbers. The remaining half a billion - losses from production activities were Zaporija before the arrival of Metinvest.

“In the context of weakening the growth of the global economic situation, Zaporizhstal, thanks to the conduct of a responsible financial and economic policy in all areas of its main activity in the second half of 2012, has achieved a significant decrease in the cost of production ... Due to the implementation of the complex of organizational and technical measures in the second half of last year, the cost of one ton of steel has decreased to 720 UAH. Thanks to the above factors since August 2012, Zaporizhstal entered the break -in level of operating profit before deducting tax expenses, interest and accrued depreciation, ”Rostislav Shurma emphasized.

The release of the missile plant to a break -cost level made it possible to defrost the reconstruction programs of production capacities and, in particular, to complete the multi -million -dollar project for building a new basic coal warehouse, which was included in the complex of dusty fuel (Put), which we wrote about last year. If we take into account the entire amount of funds spent on the launch of the PUT installation in the domain production Zaporizhstali, then the amount of investment is more than 1 billion UAH, the CEO of the Mammage of the Merciful Room recalled.

Rostislav Shurma mentioned the plans of the group Metinvest regarded Zaporizhstali for 2013. He emphasized that this year is a sign for the team of the plant, in 2013 Zaporizhstal will celebrate its 80-year anniversary. Zaporizhstal will continue consistent modernization and reconstruction of production capacities, taking into account the environmental component.

All existing agglomeration machines of the plant will be equipped with gas treatment equipment. For example, for 2013 it is planned to build a gas treatment plant for Aglomashina No. 2, investments in the project will be about 75 million UAH. In addition, in 2013, the reconstruction of the grass department in the cold rolling workshop No. 1 will be launched. The completion of the project will significantly reduce the discharges of the technical water of the plant into the Dnieper River. Investments in the project will amount to more than 233 million UAH.
