The country's costs for the import of iron ore raw materials increased by 1.8% and amounted to 1 billion 150 thousand dollars, which indicates the average purchase price of iron ore about $ 148/ton.
The main supplier to Turkey of iron ore raw materials was Brazil, which increased the supply of this product by 28.7% - to 4 million 580 thousand tons, while Sweden reduced its sales to Turkey by 30.3% to 1 million 200 thousand tons. Ukraine sold Turkey 694 thousand 200 tons of iron ore in 2012.
In December last year, the import of iron ore to Turkey increased three times compared to November 2012 and amounted to 925 thousand 624 tons.
