In the fourth quarter of last year, the company's total commercial production decreased by 28.9 percent compared to the previous quarter to 1.07 million tons, while total pellet production amounted to 412,867 tons. tons, down 35.4 percent quarter-on-quarter.
Meanwhile, in 2025, Ferrexpo's total commercial production was 6.14 million tons, down 9.4 percent, representing more than 50 percent of its pre-war capacity, despite all the problems faced due to the war, while total pellet production was 3.22 million tons, down by 46.9 percent in both cases year-on-year. In addition, in 2025, the production volume of DR pellets amounted to 81,787 tons.
According to the company's statement, by the end of the quarter, the intensity and frequency of missile and unmanned attacks on Ukraine's energy, transport and port infrastructure increased. Interruptions in electricity supplies and logistics channels led to production falling below plan in the fourth quarter.
Commenting on the company's results, Lucio Genovese, Interim Executive Chairman, said: "The last quarter of 2025 was one of the most difficult quarters for businesses and our people after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Missile attacks and drone strikes on the regional energy infrastructure have led to power outages to our enterprises. However, since December, our ability to export has decreased. They were limited because the Ukrainian Black Sea region was heavily attacked, and until repairs are carried out and safe maritime access is restored, we will again focus on exports by rail."
