Swiss mining company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced a temporary suspension of operations following further attacks on power generation and transmission infrastructure in Ukraine, which again impacted the energy supply of the company's operations.
This decision follows a previous announcement made in November 2025, when Ferrexpo decided to temporarily suspend the production and export of its Ukrainian mining subsidiaries after Russian missile strikes on November 8 targeted power generation and transmission infrastructure in Khorishni Plavni and the nearby industrial town of Kremenchug, as previously reported. In power supply, the company said it has decided to furlough some of its workforce while operations remain suspended. Ferrexpo did not specify the duration of the suspension, noting that operations will resume once stable power supply is restored.
The company said it will provide further updates as the situation develops.
