In the conference of the participants of the trading association of sellers and manufacturers of steel pipes, the NASPD took part in Las Vegas, more than 500 people took part.

“We are predicted by a steady increase in demand for natural gas. In the energy industry there will be a serious increase in production, and production volumes will continue to increase. And this, in turn, will require new investments in updating existing pipelines and investment in the construction of new transport highways, ”says Johnson. “Today in the USA, where natural gas is actively conducted, there are a large number of pipelines over 50 years old, which must be replaced.”

According to economist Lauren Scott for the global pipeline industry, there are currently three potential sources of demand:

The first is an increase in the use of natural gas to extract a wide variety of substances from it in completely different fields - from children's toys and means for cleaning carpets to normal burning in boiler rooms for heating the premises.

The second is an increase in the use of natural gas as a fuel for thermal power plants in the production of electricity. Ecologists do not stop attacking outdated power plants using coal, and natural gas is a more pure fuel from this point of view.

And the third source of growth in demand for steel pipes will be the growth of shale gases, in which it is necessary to remove a large amount of groundwater, and this will require many new pipes.

There is a certain potential in the oil sector of the world industry, Scott added. “The prices there are high and we think that they will remain so in the foreseeable future.”
