Monthly steel exports in October this year rose 11.4 percent from September and fell 11.1 percent year over year to 600,376 tons, according to U.S. Commerce Department export data. In value terms, U.S. steel exports totaled $1.12 billion in October, up from $1.12 billion in September and $1.15 billion in October 2024.
Steel exports to Mexico in October were up 12.7 percent from September and down 17.3 percent year over year to 322,959 tons, while exports to Canada were up 10.0 percent in on a monthly basis and decreased. Up 2.7 percent from October 2024 to 238,191 tons
Other top U.S. steel export destinations in October included Brazil with 4,516 tons, China with 3,664 tons and Belgium with 2,970 tons
Major steel products exported in September included HDG at 119,740 tons, hot-rolled sheets - 48,518 tons, cut steel sheets - 67,012 tons, cold-rolled sheets - 73,912 tons, sheets in coils - 33,820 tons.
