For the whole of 2025, scrap metal imports to Turkey amounted to 18.71 million tons, which is 6.7 percent less, while the value of these imports decreased by 16.7 percent to $6.94 billion, year-on-year.
During the period, Turkey imported 3.61 million tons of scrap from the United States, down 20.4 percent year-on-year, with the United States being the leading source of scrap imports to Turkey, ahead of the Netherlands, which supplied 2.76 million tons in the period, down 0.1 percent year-on-year, and the United Kingdom, which supplied 2.09 million tons of scrap, which is 5.7 percent less year-on-year.
