On a disaggregated level, most major passenger car manufacturers also recorded steady sales growth during the month.
For example, the country's largest automaker in terms of market share, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), sold 275,000 units in January, an increase of 25 percent, while Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL) sold 59,107 units, an increase of 9.5 percent, both year-on-year.
Tata Motors Limited sold 70,222 units, an increase of 46 percent, and Mahindra & Mahindra reported sales of 63,510 units, an increase of 25.4 percent compared to January 2025,
Toyota Kirloskar Motors Limited reported sales of 30,630 units, an increase of 17 percent, while while Kia India sold 27,603 units, an increase of 10 percent year-on-year.
