S. steel imports Decreased by 5.3 percent in November 2025

According to preliminary data from the US Department of Commerce, monthly steel imports to the United States in November this year decreased by 5.3 percent compared to October and by 20.7 percent year-on-year, amounting to 1,489,022 tons. In value terms, steel imports to the United States totaled $1.56 billion in November, compared with $1.66 billion in October and $2.28 billion in November last year.

The main sources of steel imports to the United States in November include: Canada with 233,266 tons, Brazil with 224,324 tons, Mexico with 150,144 tons and South Korea with 149,299 tons. tons.

By product group, imports of semi-finished products amounted to 490,096 tons in November, compared with 345,630 tons in October and 417,239 tons in November last year. Imports of flat rolled products in November totaled 408,792 tons, compared with 546,684 tons in October and 742,661 tons in November 2024. Imports of rolled products in November amounted to 224,512 tons, compared with 295,463 tons in October and 302,348 tons in November last year. Imports of pipes and tubes totaled 298,614 tons in November, compared with 313,014 tons in October and 328,249 tons in November 2024.
