According to statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in January this year, the domestic producer price index (PPI) for the Turkish industry as a whole increased by 2.67 percent month-on-month and 27.17 percent year-on-year, while an average increase of 25.39 percent was recorded over the past 12 months.
B In this month, the domestic PPI for Turkey's core steel industry increased by 2.16 percent month-on-month and by 24.10 percent compared to the same month in 2025. Meanwhile, the average growth of the domestic PPI over the past 12 months was 15.75 percent.
On the other hand, in January, the domestic PPI for Turkish production of metal products, excluding machinery, increased by 3.39 percent compared to December and by 26.16 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the sector in question recorded an average PPI increase of 23.36 percent over the past 12 months.
