In the last month of the EU quota period from January 1 to March 31, part of the import quotas for some steel products allocated to Turkey, Algeria, Vietnam, India, Japan, South Korea and China had already been exhausted, while more than 75 percent of the quotas for some steel products had been used up, according to the European Commission.
As for other quotas allocated to Turkey, the country has exhausted its a quota of 43,033 tons for CRC (highlighted in the "Other countries" section), its quota of 97,074 tons for wire rod and a quota of 1,715 tons for railway material and its quota of 37,698 tons for other welded pipes. In addition, the country used 97.59 percent of its quota of 393,977 tons for HRC (1A).
Looking at other exhausted quotas, Algeria used its entire quota of 110,266 tons for HRC (1A), while India used its entire quota of 77,805 tons for organic coated sheets and its quota for 18,833 tons for gas pipes. South Korea exhausted its quota of 5,219 tons for corners and sections, while China used its entire quota of 8,367 tons for large welded pipes (25B).
Meanwhile, Vietnam exhausted its quotas of 43,033 tons and 10,608 tons for CRC and organic coated sheets, respectively, while Japan used its entire quota of 7,347 tons for tin smelter output. All of the above quotas are allocated to "other countries".
In addition, Taiwan used 98.22 percent and 95.93 percent of its 11,266 tons quota for CRC and its 116,832 tons quota for metal-coated sheets (4A),
