Henkel uses bluemint steel packaging from Thyssenkrupp to reduce carbon emissions

Henkel использует стальную упаковку bluemint от Thyssenkrupp для сокращения выбросов углерода

German packaging steel manufacturer Thyssenkrupp Rasselstein GmbH, a subsidiary of German steel manufacturer Thyssenkrupp, announced that it is supporting German multinational chemical and consumer products company Henkel in reducing the carbon footprint of its packaging by supplying bluemint ® reduced carbon packaging steel for cans used in a variety of product categories. The collaboration aims to support sustainability goals across the value chain.

The company said that the use of bluemint® steel allows for significant reductions in carbon emissions compared to conventional tin packaging.

Reduced emissions from scrap metal production

According to Thyssenkrupp Rasselstein, bluemint ® steel provides lower emissions through use specially treated scrap steel in a blast furnace, reducing the need for carbon-intensive raw materials.

Thyssenkrupp Rasselstein said the use of bluemint ® steel allows customers to reduce carbon emissions without compromising quality, safety or processing performance. “With bluemint ® Steel, we enable our customers to significantly improve the carbon footprint of their packaging - without compromising quality, safety or processing performance. This collaboration demonstrates how ambitious sustainability goals can be jointly achieved across the entire value chain,” said Clarisse Odewald, CEO of Thyssenkrupp Rasselstein.
