In mid-May (May 11-20) this year, the average Chinese price of HRB 400E 20mm rebar decreased by 2.5/mt ($0.36/mt) or 0.1% to 3,317.4 yuan/mt ($485/mt) compared with the price in early May (May 1-10), as announced by the National Bureau of Statistics of China.
During this period, the average price of hot rolled coil (HRC) decreased by 0.3%, while the average prices of wire rod, sheet steel and angles increased by 0.2%, 0.6% and 0.7%, although the price of seamless steel pipes remained stable, respectively, all compared to the beginning of May.
