CIM Steel Industry LLC, Rhino Steel Industries LLC and Metal Care Center Factory LLC, based in the United Arab Emirates, have launched an integrated steel production and processing project in Umm Al Quwain, marking an important industrial development milestone for the UAE.
The three companies operate as part of a landmark industrial collaboration established within the Umm Al Quwain Industrial City Authority, supporting the ambitions UAE to strengthen advanced manufacturing and sustainable industrial development.
Production begins at all sites
According to the announcement, production has already begun at all three sites, which together form an interconnected steel production ecosystem covering approximately 1.4 million square feet in Umm Al Quwain.
Integrated complex combines:
- steel melting,
- cold rolling,
- further steel processing,
- advanced coating operations.
The companies said the project's total annual steel production and processing capacity is approaching one million tons, supported by investments exceeding AED 440 million ($119.8 million).
The companies are focused on specialty steel.
As part of the collaboration, CIM Steel Industry LLC is developing a cold rolling mill focused on high-efficiency steel processing, Rhino Steel Industries LLC is introducing what it describes as the region's first fully automatic continuous coil coating line with aluzinc, and Metal Care Center Factory LLC operates a state-of-the-art steel smelting facility and downstream rolling mill for long steel products.
Although each company operates independently, the facilities are strategically integrated to improve operational efficiency and optimize resources.
The project is in line with the UAE's industrial strategy
The initiative is aligned with the UAE's Make It in Emirates", led by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, which aims to strengthen domestic industrial production and diversify the economy.
The companies also emphasized their focus on clean steel production practices through energy efficient operations, waste recycling initiatives and circular manufacturing principles.
