According to media reports, authorities in the Vietnamese province of Ha Tinh have officially stopped the That Khe iron ore project after several years of suspension. The decision includes the withdrawal of the investment certificate of the project and the termination of the project, which is managed by the Thach Khe Iron Joint Stock Company.
The Thach Khe iron ore mining project remained suspended for several years before the decision was made to terminate it. The project is located in Ha Tinh province and was developed by Thach Khe Iron Joint Stock Company. The mine has reserves of approximately 544 million tonnes and is considered the largest iron mine in Southeast Asia.
The provincial government has directed relevant departments to coordinate the implementation of the decision to cease operations, including issues related to land, finances, assets and other liabilities arising from the closure of the project.
