Today it became known that Thyssenkrupp received an offer from the Consortium Arcelormittal and Nippon Steel to sell a metallurgical plant in Alabama, the United States for $ 2 billion. This is somewhat better than the proposal of the Brazilian Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) voiced last week $ 1.5 billion for a share in the factory in Rio de Janeiro and 1.5 billion per factory in Alabama. Although, on the other hand, according to the repeated statements of Thyssenkrupp itself, only the construction of these two metallurgical enterprises cost the company 12 billion euros ($ 15.8 billion).
The transaction overgrown with rumors and speculations on the sale of ill -fated American assets seems to go to the finish line. However, as knowledgeable people say, if the CSN does not receive a plant in Alabama, then it will not buy a missile system in Rio, and this really does not want Thyssenkrupp. Which of the two evils will be chosen by the largest metallurgical company in Germany will tell time.
However, already on Friday, disappointed investors got rid of ThyssenkrupP shares, which fell at once by 8 percent and cost 15 euros to closing.
Thyssenkrupp at a crossroads: get 2 billion for a factory in Alabama or 3 billion for the Brazilian and American plants at once
