JSW Steel, the largest supplier of specialized steels in India, intends to commission a new plant for the production of electrical steel with a capacity of 2 million tons per year. The new metallurgical complex of Vidzhayanagar in the Bellari area will begin work over the next financial year.
The chairman and managing director of JSW Steel Sajan Dzhindal said, referring to shareholders at the 19th annual general meeting of the company: "We have already placed orders for basic equipment and are waiting for the commission for the FY 2015 facility." And he added that the company will make decisions on a new object in cooperation with JFE Steel Corp Japan and ecciron from Russia. "Our strategy is to produce high -quality steel brands that are currently not produced by Indian steel plants," he said.
Dzhindal announced that the company is cleaning the forests for the project of extraction of iron and manganese ore in Ankua and Rohne and coking coal in Jarkhand in coordination with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MOSL). He also called on the government to introduce a transparent method of distributing natural resources through auctions. “Despite the wealth of our country with iron ore raw materials, some Indian steel plants are now resorting to iron ore imports. While other countries limit the export of valuable natural resources, India continues to export iron ore. India natural resources into finished products with added value within the country should be in priority,” he said.
JSW Steel invests new projects to reduce dependence on high -quality iron ore, replacing it with an more poor ore content, especially since the company already has a similar experience.
