The International rating agency Standard & Poor's (S&P) said that in the event of signing an association agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, the reaction of Russia will be negative, and this, in turn, will entail a reduction in trade between the two countries. Therefore, the Association Agreement is a positive factor for the sovereign rating of Ukraine in the long term and negative - in the short -term.
“Russia, most likely, will respond with trade restrictions on the agreement between Ukraine and the EU, which it clearly demonstrated in August of this year. Export to Russia, whose share in the total Ukrainian export of goods was 29 percent in 2012, and 39 percent will probably be reduced, ”the S&P report said.
