Steel consumption in Ukraine until the end of 2013 will be reduced by three percent and will be less than 6.3 million tons. In 2014 - will grow by 4.5 percent, to 6.6 million tons. This was announced at the II National Conference of Steel Construction Market Participants in Dmitry lippa, Director General of Metinvest-SMC. In his calculations, Metinvest relies on the forecasts of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, said Mr. lippa.
The main losses will occur in the industrial sector, among the so -called "direct buyers". Retail consumers, in the category of which metinvest refers any metal depots, including the largest, will save the purchases of metal rolling at last year's level of 2.6 million tons.
Recall that the prospects of Ukrainian metallurgy, under its today's "Development", was very accurately described by the head of state Viktor Yanukovych: "Over the next decade, the competitive advantages of Ukraine in traditional export markets - products of metallurgy and chemical industry - are exhausted," he said at the regional meeting of the World Economic Forum, which takes place in Kyiv.
