“Economic indicators prove that we began to grow and look with acute optimism at the prospects in 2014,” said the financial director of Arcelormittal Adventi Mittal today during a press conference on the quarterly report of the company.
In the third quarter of 2013, according to the report published today, ArcelorMittal increased operating profit almost 9 times compared to APPG and 35.5 percent of the previous quarter to 477 million US dollars. The net loss of the company was reduced in the reporting period compared to the APG by 3.4 times, and with respect to the previous quarter, 4 times to 193 million dollars.
In addition, ArcelorMittal significantly improved the consensus forecast for the main profit before tax (EBITDA) reporting on 1 billion 710 million dollars instead of 1 billion 560 million alleged analysts.
The company confirmed its forecast for the main profit for 2013 at the level of $ 6.5 billion, with a higher income in the second half of this year. At the same time, the growth of basic profitability will be from 1 to 2 percent.
“After the weak 1 half of the year, we improved the indicators in the 3rd quarter in the annual calculus by optimizing costs and increasing the supply of core shipments from new projects,” commented the report by the General Director and Chairman of the Board of Arcelormittal Lakshmi Mittal.
ArcelorMittal predict steel consumption growth by about 3.5 percent this year, compared with the previous forecast of 3 percent.
