NLMK and OMK signed an agreement on the supply of slabs until 2016

The largest steel Russian group of NLMK, and the OMK group, the leading manufacturer of Russian pipes, signed a new agreement on long -term cooperation and the resumption of the contract for the supply of slabs until 2016 inclusive. These workpieces are designed to produce sheet rolling on the new Stan-5000 (MKS-5000) Vyksa Metallurgical Plant and the further manufacture of large diameter pipes.

The agreement was signed by the President of the NLMK group oleg Bagrin and the President of the OMK group Vladimir Markin at the Vyksa Metallurgical Plant, as part of the ceremony for the supply of half a million tons of NLMK Slyabov at the VMZ. The companies signed the initial contract in 2012. In accordance with the agreement from 2014 to 2016, NLMK is going to put about 2 million tons of slabs with an excellent chemical composition and meet high standards to the Vyksa Metallurgical Plant. NLMK harvesters will be used to produce large diameter pipes on VMZ in the pipe -electrovarian workshop No. 4.

Since the launch on the VMZ Stan-5000 in November 2011 and until September 2013, about 460 thousand tons of wide sheet were made from NLMK slabs. Cooperation between NLMK and OMK allowed to replace imported blanks, which significantly increases the efficiency of OMK logistics and production processes, and provides stable high quality products for oil and gas companies. The agreement plays a strategically important role in the process of replacing imported pipes with high -quality products of domestic production.
