Ukraine must modernize the metallurgical industry

Viktor Yanukovych considers the main priority of his work as the President of Ukraine, the modernization of domestic industry and, in particular metallurgy. He announced this today, speaking during the solemn program on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the groups of Metinvest Rinat Akhmetov.

Modernization of metallurgical enterprises, development of corporate sites of the highest international standards will be our response to the world financial crisis and growing competition for competition for competition foreign markets, he emphasized.

Today, a stable working Zaporizhstal is a currency revenue and a reliable source of income of the state budget of Ukraine. The Zaporizhzhya Metallurgical Plant, according to the president, is an “important link and one of the flagships of the ferrous metallurgy of Ukraine”.

The head of state noted the importance of conducting an environmental program and expressed hope for the rapid closure of the Marten production as outdated and environmentally harmful.

Viktor Yanukovych congratulated the metallurgists on the anniversary and presented state awards to the employees of the plant who deserved this honor. He wished the plant "to continue to increase production volumes, to actively introduce innovative technologies, to produce high -tech and high -quality products."
