According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, in October 2013, steel production in the country decreased by 5.7 percent compared to the previous month, and in an annual comparison by 7.25 percent, to 1 million 295 thousand tons.
In January - October 2013, steel production in Ukraine decreased by 3.9 percent compared to APPG -2012 and amounted to 17 million 702 thousand tons.
The release of finished rolling enterprises of ferrous metallurgy was reduced in October compared with October 2012 by 2 percent, to 1 million 445 thousand tons, including the production of steel pipes and hollow profiles, it decreased by 20.2 percent, to 130 thousand tons.
At the same time, the production of steel semi -finished products obtained by continuous casting method in October 2013 increased by 6.6 percent to 1 million 355 thousand tons compared to APPG, cast iron smelting to 0.4 percent to 2 million 383 thousand tons.
Recall that in December this year, Ukrainian metallurgical plants planned to increase production of steel by 4.6 percent to 2 million 740 thousand tons. The production of cast iron is expected to grow by 6 percent, up to 2 million 540 thousand tons, the production of metal rolling will increase by 4.1 percent to 2 million 480 thousand tons.
