In October, the shipment steel in the United States and Canada continues to grow almost at the same pace as in September. Inventory in all positions continues to improve.
The activity of service centers of steel in the United States over October 2013 increased by 8.0 percent compared to October 2012. The reserves of metal products decreased by 4.6 percent compared to October last year. At the current rate of delivery, this is a decrease by 11.6 percent compared to a year earlier.
The service centers of aluminum products in the United States in October increased supply by 8.7 percent compared to the same month of 2012. Aluminum products decreased by 0.8 percent compared to October last year. At the current rate of delivery, this is a decrease by 8.7 percent compared to a year ago.
Canadian service centers for the supply of steel products in October 2013 increased by 1.6 percent when compared with October 2012. The reserves of metal products decreased by 24.6 percent since October last year. At the current rate of delivery, this is a decrease by 25.8 percent compared to a year earlier.
The service centers of Canadian aluminum products increased supply in October by 0.5 percent compared to the same month of 2012. Aluminum stocks decreased by 12.8 percent compared to October last year. At the current rate of delivery, this is a decrease by 13.3 percent compared to last year.
