Synchronously with the expansion of steelpet potential, the State Indian company Sail plans to increase the production of iron ore to 43 million tons per year by 2015-16 of the financial year from the existing 28 million tons per year.
The largest manufacturer in the country is also the second largest iron ore mining after NMDC, which also, as part of the expansion, strives to reach the extraction of 58 million tons of iron per year of ore by 2020.
Sail plans to increase production capacities at his Kiriburu mines to 5.5 million tons per year from 4.25 million tons per year at present. It is also planned to inflate production capacities on Meghataburu and Bolani up to 6.5 million tons per year and 10 million tons per year from 4.3 million tons per year and 4.1 million tons per year, respectively.
Steel Authority LTD also plans to increase the production capacities of its GUA mine to 10 million tons per year from 2.4 million tons per year at present. In addition, it is proposed to increase the capacities of Barsua, Kalta and Taldih to 6.5 million tons per year from 3.3 million tons per year.
A powerful impulse in the production of iron ore products can come from the Rowghat mine, where the company plans to extract 12 million tons of iron ore per year. Sail has already received all the permits established by law to the mine to start development.
