After the official suspension of preparation for the signing of an agreement on the Association of Ukraine with the European Union, the agreement in Vilnius will not be signed. This was reported to reporters by ex - Polish President Alexander Kvasnevsky.
The decision of the Ukrainian government is a request for a break in negotiations before resolving issues with Russia and the Customs Union. "The mission (Koksa - Kvasnevsky) ends. Next week we will report its results in the European parliament. It is a pity that the final of our mission will not be the signing of the agreement," emphasized Alexander Kvasnevsky.
Recall that today, according to the results of a meeting with Dmitry Medvedev in St. Petersburg and "in order to take measures to ensure national security of Ukraine," Nikolai Azarov instructed to suspend preparations for the signing of an agreement on the Association with the EU.
President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych informed European Commissioner Stefan Fules that he does not plan to sign an association with the EU in Vilnius.
