The uncertainty of Ukraine’s policy regarding the signing or non -signing of an agreement with the European Union will have a negative impact on trade relations with the Customs Union. This was announced today at a press conference by the Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission for Trade Andrei Slepnev.
“If we simply hang the situation in this state, then negative trends will remain or intensify,” ITAR-TASS policies quoted.
The new gas agreements, according to Andrei Slepnev, will create short -term benefits, but in the future Ukraine must be determined. “If you remove the oil and gas component, then this scenario will be negative for the rest of the trade structure,” he said.
In addition to Ukraine itself, from its ambiguous situation, problems and losses of the Customs Union itself will arise. The negative trends of such a suspended state are already evident: the old contracts are freezing, and the new ones are not yet concluded.
“Even if the situation is settled, it is necessary to spend a lot of effort to restore what has already been lost,” he added in mind, while Ukraine is determined with its foreign policy vector.
