In the first nine months of 2013, exports from China to Russia amounted to 1.49 million tons worth 2.1 billion US dollars, which indicates a 9 percent increase in annual calculus. This amounted to about 4.3 percent of the Russian market, compared with 3.7 percent in 2011 and 3.4 percent in 2012.
China mainly exports galvanized products, technical steel pipes and large -caliber pipes that are used in the automotive industry and the engineering industry.
Although since July 2012, Russia introduced duties in the amount of 22.6 percent on the Chinese steel cold rental with a cross -section of 50 mm, the import of this type of product grew by 20 percent in the first three quarters of the current year.
Despite this, Chinese steel products did not show obvious signs of influence on the domestic market of Russia. Russian metallurgists pay close attention to changes in the domestic steel market and are ready to take all the necessary measures to protect their market legally when necessary.
In addition, China’s price competitiveness depends much more on the raw material component, since unlike Russian competitors, the Chinese do not have cheap high -quality sources such as iron ore, coal and other minerals.
Chinese steel products are not an obvious threat to Russia's metallurgists
