According to customs statistics published by the Japanese Ministry of Finance, in October 2013, the export of ferrous metallurgy products amounted to 3 million 280 thousand tons, declining by 1.56 percent compared to APPG-2012 and 5.1 percent compared to the previous month. At the same time, the import of metal products to Japan increased in October by 18.47 percent in an annual comparison and decreased by 7.96 percent compared to September 2013.
For 10 months of 2013, the export of steel and the metal distribution from Japan amounted to 36 million 220 thousand tons, increasing by 4.22 percent compared to APPG-2012. In the same period of time, imports became the country of the rising sun decreased by 8.41 percent to 5 million 870 thousand tons.
The main consumer of the Japanese metal production was South Korea with a result of 6 million 630 thousand tons in 10 months, in second place China is 5 million tons, then Thailand - 4 million 610 thousand tons, Taiwan - 3 million 200 thousand tons and the USA - 1 million 900 thousand tons.
For 10 months, Japan imported 2 million 830 thousand tons of steel and metal rolling, mainly from South Korea - 860 thousand tons.
