South African manufacturer of steel, Scaw Metals Group, will build a new processing plant in Tema, Gana. This new plant will significantly increase the power of the grinding of the company on the African continent.
Investments worth more than 40 million dollars are carried out in partnership with the South African Guma Group, as well as the Jospong Group of Companies, which is founded in Ghana. The plant, with an annual capacity of 50,000 metric tons, should become in service within 18 months and will offer significant opportunities for the employment of the local population.
SCAW METALS Group is the largest manufacturer of cast small balls made of high -striped steel in the southern hemisphere. The company is a leading manufacturer and supplier of high -quality chromium and forged grinding balls primarily for the African mining industry of platinum, copper and gold.
The Chief Executive Director of SCAW METALS Group Marcus Hannemann said that "we are pleased to build a plant in Ghana due to South African investments. The Ghana government gave impetus to the local processing industry to stimulate economic growth and ensure the creation of new jobs."
Scaw Metals Group already has a presence in Ghana. The company in Ghana was registered in 2011 as a regional office of sales of products produced in South Africa SCAW METALS Group, which may be in demand in the West Africa region. Hannemann said that "based on our experience in Ghana, we are sure that we will be able to fully use the huge potential of the region. We plan to pay special attention to the development of plant employees that our plant has world -class standards and has indirect impact on the local community."
