The head of Eurofer once again demanded that the European commission revise the energy and climatic policy

Глава EUROFER в очередной раз потребовал от европейской комиссии пересмотреть энергетическую и климатическую политику
Today, December 4, the vice-president of the European Commission Antonoy Tayani and the commissioner for employment Laszlo Andor will meet with representatives of the European metallurgical business in Brussels. Among the invited directors and owners of the 14 largest metallurgical companies in the EU, representatives of the European parliament and trade union organizations.

The head of the Association of EU BLLUETRIC EU EU EURofer, Gordon Moffat, said that he was welcoming the desire of European Commission officials to improve the business environment for European industry, but once again emphasized the importance of reforming energy and climate policy.

"In Europe, an emergency has developed from the point of view of energy and climatic policy. We are extremely necessary for real political decisions aimed at reducing the rupture of energy prices in the EU and its main competitors," said Gordon Moffat.

According to the expert assessment of Eurofer, the share of energy costs and regulatory costs in the profits of the metallurgical companies in Europe reached a critical point.

Regarding the climatic policy, Moffat said that "European metallurgists do not oppose the ambitious goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. However, they need confidence that their costs to reduce harmful emissions will be compensated as their competitors around the world."

Recall that on June 11, 2013, the European Commission adopted a "plan of action to improve the competitiveness and stability of ferrous metallurgy in Europe." The action plan provides for about 50 points, which must be executed by the commission and the EU member states. One of the points was the creation of a working group at the highest level, which will make proposals and control their execution by all interested parties.
