More than two thousand people left Zlatoust without work

A new owner has appeared on the Zlatoust Metallurgical Plant (ZMZ) from December 1. Uralvagonzavod replaced the financial difficulties of Mechel. The management structure was the enterprise - bankrupt Volgograd plant "Red October". Its managers have been working on ZMZ since November 25.

By agreement with the authorities of the Chelyabinsk region, the new owner began bankruptcy of the ZMZ property complex and fired the entire personnel of the plant. Governor Mikhail Yurevich called the actions of the new owner the best way out of this situation.

However, Dmitry Gerasimenko, Director General of Krasnoye October, announced that 2 thousand people would be adopted to work in the new enterprise of the Zlatoust Energy Metallurgical Plant. “With the personnel who is not in demand in production, employment contracts will be terminated,” said the new owner of the ZMZ.

As reported, on November 1, 2013, there were more than 4.2 thousand people on ZMZ. It was to preserve the team that the headquarters was created to save the plant under the direct leadership of Governor Yurevich.
