In connection with the confrontation of local residents for the South Korean company, Posco is unlikely that the ceremony of laying the first stone of the foundation of the metallurgical plant will take place next month.
Talking about holding a ceremony in January began since the South Korean diplomat June Gyu Lee met with the head of the ministers Navin Patnaik in October and said that he was hoping for the speedy start of the project. He also stated that the president of South Korea, as planned, would visit India in January and, therefore, the ceremony of laying the first stone of the Factory of the plant may take place respectively with the terms of the visit.
As of today, the company owns 1703 acres of land, despite the minimum needs of the project of 2700 acres. The company has repeatedly stated that it would start work only after it receives all 2700 acres necessary for the construction of the first stage of the plant. The national green tribunal, which stopped cutting trees in the villages where the project is planned, is waiting for further orders. The district administration seeks to achieve the permission of the government on the transfer of land for the use of the company without deforestation.
Reliable sources reported that the first stone laying ceremony will not take place in the foundation next month. The district administration acquired 2858 acres for the construction of a metallurgical facility, of which 2700 hectares will be allocated Posco, and the rest of the areas are designed to create auxiliary production and infrastructure.
