Cairo shakes the strike of employees of the metallurgical plant

Каир сотрясает забастовка работников металлургического завода
Last Tuesday, employees of the Egyptian State Metallurgical Company Egyptian Iron & Steel (Hadisolb) announced the continuation of the strike until their requirements are completely satisfied.

About 5 thousand workers of the metallurgical factory located in Helian (southern suburb of Cairo) required the payment of the share of the enterprise laid down according to the law. In addition, protesters demanded the return of dismissed employees, improving working conditions, as well as the resignation of a number of members of Hadisolb.

According to the leader of the strike of Mohamed Omar, the protest will continue until the government fulfills all the requirements of the workers and will cease to accuse them of contacts with the Islamist organization "Muslim Brotherhood". Omar also said that strikes will end only when all violations of the labor law are eliminated in Hadisolb.

According to reports, the protests of the Egyptian workers began more than two weeks ago. At first, the strikers gathered at the headquarters of Hadisolb, and then moved to the Cairo suburb of Garden City, where the main office of the company owning the main package of shares of a metallurgical enterprise was located.

Last week, the Minister of Labor Resources of Egypt, Kamal Abu Eite, reported on the requirements of the country's protesters to the prime minister Khazem al-Bablaui, who demanded within 72 hours to pay the workers the share of Hadisolb in his profit.

The workers received the promised funds, but many of their requirements have yet to be fulfilled, so in the coming days the protesters do not plan to turn off the strike.
