In January 2014, the metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine plan to reduce the production of steel compared to the expected volume of December 2013 by 1.4 percent to 2 million 700 thousand tons. This was reported in the association of enterprises "Metallurgprom".
At the beginning of next year, the release of Ukrainian metal rolling will decrease by 7.3 percent compared to the forecast level of December of the current year to 2 million 320 thousand tons. Cast iron smelting will be reduced by 1.5 percent to 2 million 500 thousand tons.
To ensure the declared production volumes in January 2014, Ukrainian metallurgical companies will require 610 thousand tons of aggloruda, 1 million 645 thousand tons of concentrate, 450 thousand tons of agglomerate, 940 thousand tons of limestone, 1 million 210 thousand tons of metallurgical coks, 46000 thousand tons of scrap metal.
According to the Association "Ukrrudprom", the applications of metallurgists for limestone and iron ore raw materials are fully provided. By import, metallurgical enterprises plan to purchase 100 thousand tons of agglorudes and 170 thousand tons of concentrate.
According to the Ukrkoks association, the need for metallurgists in Coks for January is fully ensured. The supply of Ukrainian coals for coking in January will amount to 1 million 180 thousand tons. It is also necessary to import another 760 thousand tons of coal.
