The law on holding the presidential elections in Ukraine on May 25 contradicts the agreement of February 21. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov following talks with his colleague from Luxembourg Jean Asselborn.
The agreement of February 21, signed by the then opposition and representatives of the European Union, provides for a constitutional reform until September, and only then the presidential elections, Lavrov said.
Earlier it was reported that the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs believes that stabilization of the situation in Ukraine can only be achieved by joint efforts of the EU and the Russian Federation.
