Uzbekistan launches production of high quality copper pipe

Only a few days are left until the first in Uzbekistan plant for the production of high-quality copper pipes will start operating at full capacity. Due to the fact that the colossal pace of construction was used, not even a year has passed from the first day of the construction of the new plant. As the newspaper "Pravda Vostoka" broadcasts, the plant of UE "Angren Kuruv Zavodi" will produce exclusively high-quality copper pipes, with different parameters of length and diameter, and the scope of their use will be very wide. The main and most significant advantage of this pipe production is the use of full localization. Initially, the focus of production will be on the manufacture of pipes for heating, sewerage and water supply systems. It is planned to carry out a full production and industrial cycle on the territory of the republic, namely: search and development of a quarry, extraction of source material, its processing and production of a copper cathode. Previously, a copper cathode was supplied in large volumes exclusively to the external market, since there were no industrial plants on the territory of the republic that could process it to obtain the material used in the manufacture of copper pipes.

According to the current management of the plant, the scale of production will fill both the internal and external local markets. Naturally, in the first periods of operation, almost 90 percent of copper pipes will be exported to European countries. Several contracts for the supply of copper pipes to China, Switzerland and Turkey have already been successfully signed.

Earlier it was reported that in Uzbekistan in January this year, the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AGMK) completed the construction of a plant for the production of copper pipes worth $ 35.5 million. The design capacity of the enterprise will be eight thousand tons of pipes with a diameter of 4.5 to 50 mm per year. The supply of technological equipment on a turnkey basis was carried out by the Chinese Jiangsu Xingrong High Tech Co., and the construction work was carried out by SAM Building Contracting LLC (UAE). The project was financed from the AMMC's own funds in the amount of $ 10.28 million and loans from Ipoteka Bank provided in hard currency and in national currency for a total of $ 25.2 million.
