Metallurgical Forum to be held in Kazakhstan

The Fifth Anniversary International Congress "Astana Mining & Metallurgy" (AMM 2014) will be held in Astana on June 12-13, the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan reported.

The main theme of the congress is "Modernization of the mining and metallurgical complex as a key factor in increasing the competitiveness of the industry." This indicates that the current situation in the world encourages developed countries to produce more competitive products through diversification, modernization of existing enterprises and the introduction of new high-tech projects.

The AMM concept provides for the consideration of all issues related to the full cycle of production processes, from exploration, ore mining, beneficiation and processing, to the production of high-tech products.

Experts and scientists from 30 countries of the world, as well as the first heads of national mining and metallurgical companies, service companies and international organizations, scientists and businessmen, who will speak in Astana, will take part in the work of the 95th session of the International Organizing Committee of the World Mining Congress. They will represent Australia, Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Great Britain, Germany, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Poland, USA, France, South Africa, Sweden and Japan.

Also, the Second Kazakh Conference on Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Scrap will be held as part of the Swedish Days of the Mining Industry in Kazakhstan.

The Fifth International Mining and Metallurgical Congress "Astana Mining & Metallurgy" will combine exhibitions, seminars and the "Golden Hephaestus" competition. The aim of the competition is to recognize the achievements of companies and specialists in the field of mining and metallurgy. Participation in the competition is free.
