Compared to January 2013, exports from the Lviv region increased by 11.1 percent, or $ 9.8 million, imports - by 13.5 percent, or $ 22.1 million. The negative foreign trade balance amounted to $ 88.0 million.
The largest volumes of exported products fell on Poland - $ 31.9 million (32.3 percent of the total regional export), Germany - $ 12.5 million (12.6 percent), the Russian Federation - $ 10.1 million (10.2 percent), Denmark - $ 7.5 million (7.6 percent) and the Czech Republic - $ 5.8 million (5.9 percent).
Among the goods that Lviv region exported during January 2014, machines, equipment and mechanisms, electrical equipment and their parts prevailed - $ 25.0 million (25.4 percent of the region's exports), finished food products, mainly processed fruits and vegetables - $ 23 , 5 million (23.8 percent), textiles and textile products - $ 12.2 million (12.4 percent), wood and wood products - $ 9.2 million (9.3 percent), furniture - $ 7, 0 million (7.1 percent).
Among 92 countries from which goods were imported into the region, the largest volumes fell on Poland ($ 38.7 million, or 20.7 percent of the total regional import), Belarus ($ 34.6 million, or 18.5 percent), Germany ($ 23.2 million, or 12.4 percent), Lithuania ($ 15.6 million, or 8.4 percent), Russia ($ 9.8 million, or 5.2 percent) and China ($ 8.1 million, or 4.3 percent).
Russia got $ 10 million worth of goods from the Lviv region in January.
