Vallourec, a global leader in seamless steel pipes, announced that it has been selected to supply 10,000 tonnes of pipes for the construction of the Shuqaiq Steam power plant in Saudi Arabia. Deliveries are scheduled for the first, second and third quarters of 2014.
Vallourec products will be used in liquid fuel boilers for a steam power plant to be built by Hyundai Heavy Industries Company Limited, the Chinese subsidiary of the South Korean Hyundai Heavy group. The Saudi Electric Company industrial facilities in Shuqaiq are located approximately 580 kilometers south of Jeddah on the shores of the Red Sea.

Earlier this year, Vallourec opened a new oil and gas pipe finishing processing plant in Saudi Arabia: Vallourec Saudi Arabia. The unit is located in Dammam and provides heat treatment and threading for the full range of VAM premium connections, with an annual capacity of 100 thousand tons. The plant also includes finishing lines.
