At a meeting between Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Gazprom head Alexei Miller, the issue of Ukraine's debt for consumed gas was raised, which, according to Gazprom, has exceeded $ 2.2 billion by now.
“Our Ukrainian partners must find the necessary finances and pay off their debts, since cooperation in the gas sector, as well as in any other spheres of the economy, cannot be carried out any other way,” Medvedev said and added that the new Ukrainian government must clearly understand this.
In addition, Dmitry Medvedev announced the termination of the zero duty on gas exports to Ukraine, and Alexey Miller reported that the price of 1,000 cubic meters of fuel will rise to $ 485 since April.
