The North America-West Asia Consortium is looking to deliver an initial inventory of oil well equipment as soon as possible in order to fulfill plans to expand supplies to Iraq as oil demand rises. The first batch of steel pipes for oil wells is expected to arrive in Iraq in early May.

MRC Global metal pipes , based in Houston, is the largest global distributor of pipes, valves and fittings, as well as provides services for the energy and industrial markets ...
The desire of American manufacturing to support Iraq's growing efforts to develop the oil and gas sector has led to the formation of a consortium. Together, all members of the US Steel Tubular Products, MRC Global and NAWAH consortium are committed to helping Iraq create a market that can replicate the history of Saudi Arabia, which developed the world's largest oil and gas reserves.
George Thompson, Chief Commercial Officer of the pipe company, said that "the company stands ready to play an important role in equipping the world's largest oil production projects while helping Iraq to become an economically viable nation. We are delighted to be part of this historic moment."
Rory Isaac, Vice President of International Operations at MRC Global, said that “The reputation of American pipe products, combined with an expansive portfolio of pipes, valves, fittings and flanges, allows for worldwide supply. And after NAWAH passed regional and operational expertise in the country, we believe this consortium can be a successful part of rebuilding Iraq's energy infrastructure. "
