Rostrud and Mechel announce a joint project

Mechel OAO, one of the leading Russian companies in the mining and metallurgical industries, announced the launch of a project to enhance the effectiveness of measures to improve working conditions at the Group's enterprises. The project will be implemented jointly with the Russian Federal Service for Labor and Employment within the framework of the new model of this institution's activities.

Labor inspectorates will complete their formation in the Russian Federation by 2018. The Mechel Group was selected to implement this project as one of the largest employers in Russia in activities related to diversified industrial facilities. As part of this project, monitoring will be carried out in 2014, carefully analyzing the working conditions and labor protection systems at 21 Mechel sites.

As a result, a comprehensive plan to improve working conditions will be developed taking into account the latest changes in Russian labor law.
