The Agency for Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported that metallurgists of Kazakhstan produced 912,100 tons of steel in the period from January to March 2014. This production volume is 19.3 percent more than in the same period in 2013.
During the reporting period, Kazakhstan also produced 418,900 tons of ferroalloys, showing an increase of 4.9 percent, flat products produced 591,100 tons, increasing the volume to 20.7 percent. However, the production of tin and tinned sheets decreased by 44.5 percent and amounted to 17,100 tons.
