The US Department of Commerce is once again showing a firm resolve in identifying possible cases of dumping in steel production.
Since yesterday, in fact, preliminary duties have been established on textured electrical steel from the Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Poland and China.
A complaint about the sale in the US market below fair value was submitted by AK Steel and the Allegheny Ludlum Corporation and the Steelworkers' Association. The rates start from a minimum of 5.34 percent to a maximum of 241.91 percent.
For its part, Beijing has repeatedly called on Washington to honor its commitments against protectionism and to work with China and other countries without hindering free trade. Earlier, anti-dumping duties were set for the import of rebar and wire from Mexico at 9.99 percent and Turkey with a duty of 2.64 percent.
