Ukraine's largest steelmaker, Metinvest, has called on workers in the Donetsk region to volunteer to protect local citizens from the unrest in the city that has resulted from Kiev's anti-terrorist operations.
Many metallurgists took to the streets in their work clothes and protective helmets and patrolled the streets along with local law enforcement agencies. Unarmed Men are trying to maintain public order and prevent violence and vandalism.
Yuri Ryzhenkov, CEO of Metinvest, said that “We must sit down at the negotiating table. Only then will our fellow citizens be completely safe.
