A photo exhibition of MMK "Steel Heart of Russia" was held in Malta

The opening ceremony of a photo exhibition dedicated to the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, one of the world's largest steel producers, took place in Valletta at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Malta.

Today MMK is a modern metallurgical complex that meets the highest international standards. The metallurgical plant boasts high-tech production facilities that enable it to produce a wide range of high value-added products.

Vladimir Ruga, Vice President for External Relations at MMK, said that “The history of the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works is inextricably linked with the history of Russia in the 20th and 21st centuries. MMK was built more than 80 years ago and immediately became the flagship of the Soviet metallurgical industry, serving as a platform for the modernization of the entire industry.

In the late 1990s, the plant was revived. Since the decision was made to modernize the outdated equipment and start the construction of new production facilities. For these purposes, about 10 billion US dollars were invested in a metallurgical plant. And now, like many years ago, MMK is once again among the best metallurgical plants in the world. "

The Minister of Culture and Local Government of Malta, Owen Bonnici, approved the rich work of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Valletta, noting that the holding of exhibitions of this level contributes to the further strengthening of cultural ties and friendly relations between peoples. After the official part, the guests got acquainted with the exposition of photographs that reflect today's everyday life at MMK.
