Heavy excavators of the Japanese company Hitachi with a lifting capacity of 23 cubic meters were put into operation at the open mines of Lebedinsky and Mikhailovsky GOKs (both Metalloinvest). The equipment was acquired as part of Metalloinvest's investment program.
This type of machine was first used at the mining and processing plants of Metalloinvest Previously used excavators had a carrying capacity of 10-12 cubic meters or less. High quality and power are the hallmarks of the new equipment. The excavator is equipped with a comfortable cab, which has an ergonomic design and convenient operation. This makes the operator's work easier and improves efficiency.
Implementation of the investment program to upgrade the equipment of the mining and transport complex of Lebedinsky and Mikhailovsky GOKs is aimed at increasing the productivity and efficiency of processing two blocks. The use of modern and powerful machines makes it possible to improve working conditions at Metalloinvest's factories.
The main stage of the program for the modernization of mining and transport complexes at Metalloinvest enterprises began last year, during which six 180-ton Caterpillar dump trucks, 220 ton BelAZ and 160 ton BelAZ were commissioned. In the near future, it is planned to add five more heavy 180-ton Caterpillar dump trucks to Metalloinvest. In addition, four towing machines, two 10-15 cubic meter excavators and boring machines are expected to be commissioned shortly.
The introduction of new trucks and trailers last year made it possible to transport 50 percent more raw materials than was previously possible. The introduction of Hitachi excavators with a lifting capacity of 23 cubic meters allows Metalloinvest to create integrated heavy excavator-transport tandems, which significantly increases the efficiency of the company's mining segment.
Metalloinvest continues to expand its fleet of heavy machines
